Dog Stroller History
2003 was the first year DoggyRide dog strollers were available on the market, starting in the Netherlands. In 2006 the models finally reached the United States but not without starting a knock off creation trend. The look of these strollers is the same concept at the pull behind strollers for children for your bicycle. However, the DoggyRide installed a flatter flooring system so the animal would be able to fit flat and comfortably rather than directly on the stroller’s axle.
DoggyRide’s original model was pretty large and only intended for the use of larger breed dogs. The mini dog stroller, for small breed dogs, was not available until 2007 along with the company’s luxury model. After the strollers test success in Europe the products were finally released to be sold and produced in the United States. Luckily the sales did well in both Europe and the States because now we are able to purchase these strollers for all of our pooches. Pampering your dog was not the intended use of these strollers when they were invented though. They were invented for pet owners who like to take their dogs along on walks, hikes and rides.

The mini dog stroller is only intended for dog breeds that reach a maximum for 15 inches in height to their shoulders. The original DoggyRide fits most all medium to large size dogs, even including some Great Danes!
The luxury model can be used on any size dog as it is a large stroller however, know that with luxury comes a higher price tag. Don’t be fooled by knock offs, by the first stroller by DoggyRide for a quality stroller.
