How far does the City of Dallas go in their Background Checks for jobs?

About 14 years when I was 19 and a dumb one at that I was charged with felony possession of Marijuana in south Texas. This has never really hurt me since I have never lived in Texas now me and my family are thinking of moving to Texas and I was looking at some city jobs and all require background checks. So I was wondering do they only go back 7 years or so or what the deal is.

Not very far we had a criminal police chief, mayor and city council.
