What is the best way to look for employment in another city?

Other suggestions then just net and newspaper.
I have no contacts in this city.

go visit there for a couple of days and ask the people who live there.im relocating the middle of next year.i looked at the citys website and i requested a relocation pack and they sent me one.it has a book with available apartments,a book with some of their laws in and some other neat stuff.
