I can’t find an apartment. I am on section 8 city of Chandler AZ and I have a judgment on my credit, help!

I just recently went through a divorce and I am also raising a 7 year old child by my self I don’t recieve child support and I am attending school full time so I am pretty much living off of my student loans until I get my R.N. bachelors degree. I am trying to come up in the world but since I depend on the state right now I keep getting knocked down. One does what one has to do to survive even if it’s not what one wants to do.

Try renting from an private owner. A lot of corporations won’t allow you to rent there when you have a judgment on your credit, especially if it is from a landlord. So i would definitely try renting from a private owner, they don’t screen as well as a corporation would.

How about getting a job or a second job (that’s what most of us do in order to be able to pay the rent) instead of relying on someone else to subsidize your rent payment. Try looking for a job in Phoenix; if you don’t find one it’s because you are either being too picky about the starting wage, or you don’t really want a job in the first place.
